Busia contractor donates uniforms to Apokor FC
Football Kenya Federation North Western Branch Regional League side Apokor FC from Teso South have received two sets of uniform totaling sh76,000 from a Busia contractor.
Engineer James Anyango of Arsene Agencies Limited presented the light blue and gray uniforms to the team at Apokor Primary School grounds on Saturday.
It was a timely donation for the Club which took on Kotur FC in the regional league encounter at the same venue that ended 3-0 in their favour.
Moses Anyango scored a brace in the first half before Vincent Oramisi made it 3-0 in the second half. Anyango received Sh2,000 and Oramisi Sh1,000 courtesy of County Chief Officer for Education and Vocational Training Joel Barua who witnessed the local derby.
Anyango said he emulated Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong’s passion for sports and for empowering them. He pledged to seek support from well wishers to purchase a set of boots to the club.
He told the team to put up their best shot saying many goodies are on the way if they excel in their league matches.
Area parliamentary aspirant Titus Isogol donated two balls to Apokor FC. He also gave the club Sh10,000 with Kotur FC receiving Sh5,000.
FKF Teso Sub Branch chairman Moses Imai witnessed the match together with the sub branch secretary Mathew Ekirapa and his deputy Isaac Omanyala.
Isogol thanked Anyango for the kind gesture saying taking soccer as a career will end the culture of disco matanga, thus reducing the risks inherent with social evils.
Imai saluted Anyango for becoming the first person in Busia and Western Region at large to buy uniforms to a club taking part in the Regional League. He urged others to emulate that feat.
