Jaro Soja plans Gor friendlies in Busia

Gor Mahia  FC   number one fan   Jaro Soja  has revealed  he will arrange to have the club play  a series of friendly matches at the refurbished  Busia  County Stadium  after the completion of the Kenya Premier League.

Speaking after meeting  Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong and a visit to the Stadium on Tuesday, Soja the proclaimed  “Chief of Defence  Gor Mahia Defence Forces” said Busia County Stadium  is better than Sony and Thika Stadiums.
Flanked by Gor Mahia  Busia  County branch chairman  James Anyango and County Sports Officer Margaret Oduma, Soja  said the Stadium befits Premier League  matches if the County Government will erect  perimeter fence to obstruct fans from entering the pitch.
” Gor has many fans  in Busia and Eastern Uganda, thus the need  for the club to use  the Stadium for some of their  League matches  in 2017. The club last played at the border town in 1987 in the Moi Golden Cup against Busia United which they won 2-1.
He said  it is due to public demand and assurance by the  Governor that Gor management should consider  Busia as its home  ground  to host some matches next season.
Soja  exuded confidence   Gor will win their  fourth successive  league title  despite  trailing leaders Tusker by four points and with five matches to go.
” Tusker are losing in Mombasa this weekend and we win against Stima.  We are also yet to meet them in a  match  we shall emerge  winners.
Our other match is against  Mashemeji (Ingwe).   They are known to rise to the occasion when they are off-form but the players  are aware of the  tie and they will not take chances,” he said.
Oduma  thanked Soja for the planned  Gor Mahia friendlies , adding that  Busia is  the mother  of talents with Tottenham  striker Victor Wanyama  hailing from the  County.
