BUSIA STRIKES TWO GOLD MEDALS AT NATIONAL PRIMARY SCHOOLS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Busia County struck two gold medals at the just concluded Kenya Primary Schools Sports Association Athletics championships at Mumias Sports Complex.

 Budokomi Primary School pupil Austine Wandera clinched gold medal in discusses boys. George Odunga of Bukalama Primary School led Busia 100X4m relay team to lift gold for Busia County.

Odunga also won silver in 400m and bronze in 100m. Paul Kipsang from Elukhari Primary School in Butula won silver medals in 3000m and 5000m.

Other silver medallists included Lilian Abita from Elalai Primary school in Teso North in triple jump   and Stephen Bwire from Buduta Primary in Samia in 100m and 200m.

All gold, silver and bronze medallists have qualified for national trials which will be used to pick Team Kenya for International Junior Athletics championships.

Busia First Lady Judy Ojaamong who donated the games kit has lauded Team Busia for their excellent performance and wished them the best of luck during the national trials.
