Busia County Tug of War men’s Club have been invite to participate in the Mashujaa Cup cum final leg of the Kenya Tug of War Association (KETWA) national league to be held at Tononoka Sports Grounds in Mombasa County from October 19-21, 2018.
Busia who reached the quarterfinals of this year’s KICOSCA Games in Kisii and losing 2-1 to Mombasa County are currently ranked 9th out of 18 teams participating in KETWA league.
Busia captain Pius Imo said the team will take their training seriously considering the stiff competition from other national teams like GSU, Nairobi, Laikipia , Nakuru, Kisumu, Mombasa, Kilifi Kwale and Uasin Gishu counties among others.
According to KETWA Organizing Secretary Charles Opondo the winner of the national league will represent the country in African Tug of war championships to be held in South Africa early next year.
Imo said Busia second string team will take part in the Masujaa Day Cup against Busia Prisons at the Busia County Stadium.
