KOCHOLIA HOSPITAL CONTRACTOR FIRED FOR FAILING TO SUPPLY WATER PUMPS

Busia County Government has terminated the contract of a contractor who won a tender to drill water at Kocholia Sub County hospital and later install pipes and water pumps to the health institution.

Speaking in Busia on Monday during the launch of the cashless revenue collection system, County Executive Committee Member for Water Dr Isaac Alukwe said the contractor has let the county down by failing to supply pumps, thus sparking off water shortage at the institution.

“We have terminated his contract and appointed another contractor who will be on site by Wednesday.  The health institution should expect normal water supply by the end of this week,” he said.

The CEC Member said the borehole has capacity of 4 cubic metres of water per hour, adding that they will abstract about 3cubic metres.
