LET’S WORK TOGETHER FOR BENEFIT OF BUSIANS, OTUOMA TELLS GOVERNOR OJAAMONG

Privatization Commission chairman Dr Paul Otuoma has pledged to work with Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong for the benefit of County residents.

Addressing mourners during the burial of Marsiana Nafula, the mother to Bukiri Location Chief in Samia Sub County, Stephen Maunda on Saturday, Dr Otuoma who lost to Governor Ojaamong in the gubernatorial race in 2017 said  that Ojaamong is the Governor of Busia County.

“Life is more important than being self-centred. In line with the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Dr Otuoma said unity is paramount in the county.”

The former Funyula Member of Parliament said he has suspended politics for a while and focus on working with the county leadership to bring people together and to ensure they get better service.

Dr Otuoma urged residents to allow the   Governor time to execute his mandate and at the same time told the County CEO to listen to dissenting voices.

The Governor   concurred with his former opponent that there was need for leaders to bury their hatchets, embrace unity and keep politics aside.

Governor Ojaamong said beating Dr Otuoma was no mean achievement and told him to try a shot at the same seat in 2022 and “you never know with God.”

He revealed that his government will absorb Sh3.8billion in development projects between now and May, 2019, adding that many projects will be advertised in the mainstream media in the next few days.
