” We  covered 152 schools  in 20 counties  in 2017. A part from  the  learning materials we have  examination  papers  in  Taifa Leo which  has proved popular among   pupils in primary schools,” he said, adding that this is meant to address literacy in schools.

Flanked by Deputy Governor  Moses Mulomi, Governor Sospeter Ojaamong  said  his government has had  cordial relationship with NMG. However, he told the  Group to  portray also the positive achievements of county governments and not only  the negative side.

” Continued  negative coverage  on counties will scare away investors . There are many investment opportunities which  can help create job opportunities for county residents.

Busia is a multi-cultural  county with many  annual cultural events that is good destination for both  local and international tourists. This needs to exploited to the maximum,” he said.

The Governor  revealed to the Nation team that   Busia  County will host  the second Summit  meeting  of the Lake  Region Economic Bloc on June 8th, 2018  at the Hotel Itoya.

” The World Bank  report ranked Busia  top for ease of doing business. We need  tell our people that it takes only a day to get  trading licence in Busia,” he said.
