Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong is committed to clearing all pending bills and finishing all stalled projects.
While addressing the press at the Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu on Wednesday, the Governor said that the pending bills are as result of unpaid Ward Development Projects.
“The position of my administration is to clear pending bills and complete all stalled Ward Development Projects in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive that no new project will be sanctioned until the completion of stalled and incomplete ones,” he said.
HE Sospeter Ojaamong had attended a joint retreat between the Busia assembly and the executive..
“The retreat was meant to fine tune the Supplementary Budget so that the MCAs can factor the Ward projects they want in the budget before it is submitted to the Assembly,” he said.
During the retreat, MCAs forwarded to the Executive a four-point memorandum which will be responded to in writing.
Leader of Majority Laban Mukhwana said they want to know the implementation status of the 2017/2018 projects, status of Local Purchase Orders for 2018/2019 budget, distribution of Kenya Devolution Support Program Funds and position of the County and Ward bursaries.
