Songa Mbele dominate Samia Boat Race Competition

Songa Mbele dominated Samia Boat Race Competition winning two titles out of three during the finals attended by Funyula Member of Parliament Oundo Mudenyo at Bumbe Beach.

 In the women’s category, Songa Mbele shrugged off stiff challenge to carry the day in a time of 11 minutes 29.9 seconds.

 Namude Orada took second position in 12min 26.26 seconds with Namwanga Odinga and Kaswa taking third and fourth positions in 12min. 49.03 seconds and 13min 40.30 seconds respectively.

In the men’s Boat Category 5 race, Songa Mbele emerged winners after clocking 18 minutes 35.20 seconds. Namude Orade took second position in 18min 47.04 seconds; Obwabo Nakumbuka were contented with third position in 19min 00.8 seconds while Safaricom took fourth position in a time of 19min 40.27 seconds.

The men’s category 4 race was won by Machinery for the ninth year running clocking 19minutes 22.4seconds. Namwamba Odinga took second position in 19min 57.28sec. Kaswa and Adori took third and fourth positions in 20min 17.28 sec and 22min 10.15sec respectively.

Each winner received a trophy and Ksh30, 000 with teams that took second to fourth positions getting Ksh20, 000 each.
