The Iteso and Luhya will jointly produce a president, says Mudavadi

The Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi   has said  the Iteso and Luhya will come together and produce a  President  for Kenya from Western region.
Speaking during the launch of Oku Kaunya Foundation in Kakamer, Teso North Sub County on Saturday, Mudavadi  said the Iteso are  part and parcel of Western region.
” Despite different ethnic origins, God found it necessary to  place the Iteso among the  people of Mulembe (peace). The integration and cohesion has been the hallmark of the peaceful relationships between Iteso and the  Luhya.
My partnership with Iteso is historical. I have worked in Government with friends like Ekirapa (Albert A.A.) and Pancras Otwani  (the late) who served as assistant ministers during  Moi’s regime,” he said.
He said Eng.  Vincent Sidai was his candidate for  Gubernatorial seat in 2013 elections. ” He introduced me  to  Ekwete (busaa) drink.
There are many projects  initiated  for Busia town and  County  Councils, and Malaba Town Council as the Minister for Local Government.
I have also fundraised  to build many schools  and churches here.  In fact  I publicly announced for Bishop OKiring (Eliud) in creation of Anglican Church of Kenya  Katakwa Diocese.
The Secretary General of Western Region Elders Council  Japheth Barua is my friend.  Let it be known that  the only legitimate elders’ council  is the Western Region Elders Council. Any others  are imposters,” he said.
Mudavadi said the Oku Kaunya Foundation is a worthy cause by the Iteso meant to ease the suffering  of the disadvantaged  in the society.
” Kaunya is investing in the future. From its resume, the Oku  Kaunya Foundation  is unique. It is a holistic combination offering quality education, combating diseases  and tackling poverty.
It is clear to me that Kaunya is a leader  of substance  compared to  the costly jokes  Jubilee Government plays on the minds of Kenyans, especially on matters of children  and youth welfare,” he said.
He said like  Oku Kaunya Foundation, ANC wants to re-orient the youth towards values of hard work. I ANC policy is to  abolish KCPE and keep children in school  until form four when they are old enough to go to University,” he said.

  1. To Busia leaders and those who will form the next county goverment, now that the Egyptian President Sisi has visited us and portrayed a humble stance on sharing of Nile basin water resources, please give priority to construction of a mega dam at Sio bridge in Matayos to serve residents of the sub – county domestically and for other development.
