The Directorate is mandated with:

1. Mainstreaming youth issues in county Government policies and programs
2. Complementing and operationalizing youth empowerment centers
3. Complementing and managing youth talent academies
4. Supporting groups of youths with special needs
5. Offering guidance and counselling to youths
6. Researching, monitoring and evaluating youth programs
7. Promoting youth entrepreneurships
8. Complementing collaborations with agencies and institutions in youth development
9. Capacity building in youth development and empowerment
10. Managing youth exchange programs
11. Complementing and managing youth empowerment canters.
12. Promoting, tapping and nurturing talent among the youth.
13. Collaborating, consulting and cooperating with other stakeholders with other youth affairs.
14. Coordinating youth enterprise fund in the county.
