County Government of Busia

"Gateway to East and Central Africa"

Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has told his Executive to reflect and re-energize as they return home to embark on the journey of implementing projects in a professional way and which will benefit the people of the County.

He said that with the unlocking of the Revenue Sharing Formula by the Senate, the onus now rests on officers to implement projects on a timely basis.

“My deputy recently received over 100 Bill of Quantities (BoQs) from the public works Directorate with more on the way coming.

Tenders will be advertised next week; I expect by November first projects will be commissioned for this financial year,” he said.

He added: "I don’t want to hear of stories where an ECDE classroom, box culverts, renovation of dispensaries is taking a whooping five years to completion. Such should take at least a month.”

H.E Ojaamong said with the employment of new audit and accounting staff in the Finance Department, he expects professionalism in job execution, adding that they will replace those seconded from the national government.

Deputy Governor Moses Mulomi said that working retreat is aimed at looking at critical issues in service delivery, noting that the training will also enhance their capacity to deliver on their mandate that will guarantee the Governors legacy is well appreciated.
