Busia Deputy Governor Moses Mulomi on Tuesday received 98 of the117 Bill of Quantities (BQs) for various development projects.

The BQs are meant to facilitate development in the departments of; Health and Sanitation, Trade, Industry and Co-operatives, Lands, Housing and Urban Development for the Financial Year 2020/2021 under County Executive Committe Member for Infrastructure and Energy Mr Okwara Ekirapa.

 

Among the projects expected to be undertaken include a 220 capacity trailer park in Mundika, a 112-stall modern market in Adungosi, 11 modern ablution blocks in markets across the county, a two storey building at Amukura Sub County hospital, a dispensary in Hakati (Bwiri Ward),Malanga Maternity Ward in (Bukhayo Central) and a maternity wing at Busagwa Dispensary in Bunyala South.

Mr Mulomi lauded staff in the department of Public Works for delivering the documents within stipulated timeframes set out by the Governor while preparing BQs so as to hasten execution of development projects in the devolved unit.

The DG encouraged Public Works staff to own the projects they supervise for purposes of visibility by ensuring proper branding bearing Busia County Colors once completed.

Also in attendance were Chief Officers' Dr Isaac Omeri (Health and Sanitation), Ms Prisca Omoit (Infrastructure~ Lower Region) and Ms Teresia Mbingi (Lands and Housing).
