Over 10,00O people in Kwang'amor Location in Teso South Sub County will benefit from clean and safe drinking water after the completion of drilling process of a borehole at the compound of Kwang'amor Catholic Church.

 

The drilling of water in the church compound followed Busia Governor HE Sospeter Ojaamong's order to the Water Department to avail the county's drilling machine end water shortage in the area.

Chief Officer Water and Irrigation Lower Region, Dr George Tom Ekisa said areas to benefit include Okisimo, Papa and Kwang'amor, adding that water will also be extended to St James Secondary, Okisimo and Kwang'amor primary schools.

He said water was struck at 110m, noting that drilling will continue up to 130m mark.He expressed optimism that the yield will be high.

It's the second borehole to be drilled since the County Government purchased the modern drilling machine at a cost of Sh40m.The first high yielding borehole was dug at the Busia Water Offices.
