Busia Governor HE Sospeter Ojaamong has commissioned an ECDE classroom at Okwata Primary School in Amukura West Ward that was constructed by the County Government of Busia.

This brings to 11 the total number of ECDE centres constructed by the County Governent of Busia in Amukura West Ward, with one more at Odiria Primary under construction.

 

The Governor was received by school head Fidelis Omuhande, County Executive Committee Member for Education and Vocational Training, Prof Grephas Opata and Chief Officer in the Department , Daniel Mogoria.

The modern Okwata ECDE classroom brings to78 the total ECDE centres in Teso South Sub County with a total enrolment of 12,586.

The County Government of Busia has employed 168 ECDE teachers on permanent and pensionable terms. The County Government has also distributed text books to all ECDE centres in the sub county for both PP1 and PP2; it has also distributed 2,652 plastic chairs to ECDE centres in the sub county.
