The County Government of Busia has been ranked top among five others including Kwale, Kisumu, Marsabit and Taita Taveta for developed Voluntary Local Reports on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation which is an international best practice in follow up and review of SDGs.

According to rankings delivered to the CoG by World Bank, Busia was ranked first with Marsabit, Taita Taveta, Kisumu and Kwale in that order.

Busia County is also among 45 counties out of 47 that have designated County Executive Committee Members in charge of Climate Change which is domiciled in the Department of Water, Irrigation, Environment and Natural Resources.

Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong witnessed Council of Governors Chairman H.E Wycliffe Oparanya unveil the good news during the CoG State of Devolution Address 2020.
