The Directorate is mandated with:

1. Implementation of tourism policy
2. Development, promotion, and marketing of local tourism, including establishment of hotel standards
3. Implementation of conservation and protection of wildlife heritage policy
4. Development of tourism products and sites including Miss Tourism pageants
5. Undertake research and innovation in tourism
6. Film development

Promoting County Tourism Products and Services
Organizing County Tourism and Travel Expos/fairs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
Organizing County participation in National and International tourism events
Developing marketing materials to foster branding, destination image and competencies
Equipping County information Centers with marketing materials and with travel technology
Organizing cultural Tourism and other county Tourism festivals
Co-coordinating task forces on tourism industry issues on a broad scale
Establishing and promote County e-Tourism and website design for market access and linkages
Performing other related duties as assigned.
